  • 4 large ripe tomatoes, sliced (heirloom or vine-ripened preferred)
  • 8 oz fresh mozzarella, sliced
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves
  • 3 tablespoons high-quality extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic glaze or balsamic vinegar (optional)
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

1. Slice and Arrange

  • On a serving platter or individual plates, alternate slices of tomato and fresh mozzarella in a circular pattern or straight rows.

2. Add Basil

  • Tuck whole or torn basil leaves between the slices of tomato and mozzarella for a beautiful presentation.

3. Drizzle with Olive Oil

  • Drizzle the extra-virgin olive oil evenly over the salad. If using, add a drizzle of balsamic glaze or vinegar for extra flavor.

4. Season

  • Sprinkle the salad with a pinch of salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.

5. Serve
